Ifve never actually used security options with named pipes. I think itfs just a case of creating an appropriate descriptor, and passing it to CreateNamedPipe() on the server side. As far as I can tell, the client side call to CreateFile() doesnft need one (it will pick-up whatever the server has specified)........

I have just had the same problem. BitDefender doesn't like WM_COPYDATA, which I kind of suspected would be the case. But it doesn't like CreateNamedPipe() either. So multi-process apps are out of the question for mere mortals? This feels suspect........
