@lipek to follow up on the above, could you also list what's in your /etc/hostname file on each of these machines (if it exists)? This is typically where the gethostname() system call gets the machine-local hostname. It may display different behavior depending on the distribution you're using, or how you've configured your machines, but it's worth ensuring the correct hostname is also listed in that file as well as on the line next to the localhost settings in /etc/hosts........
